(08/08/2010 18:44) Denise & Tim Westlake What a wonderful way to spend the day! We were a little nervous as to what to expect but the warm welcome with which Sarah greeted us and the friendly and encouraging people who were also taking part in the beginners' course made us relax, enjoy and feel confident as we painted. To then stroll along the riverbank before indulging in a delicious meal in the restaurant made for a perfect day! Thank you, Sarah, and we look forward to coming back.
(02/08/2010 23:17) Jennie & Nigel Foster It's amazing! Sarah takes you from complete beginner to an artist with something well worth framing, in a matter of two or three days.....and so much fun is had in the process. We can never thank Sarah and hubby Nigel enough for the incredible and enjoyable tuition, cosy and comfortable accommodation, delicious food and their wonderful friendship during our week's stay. We're still painting Sarah, and see everything through an artists eye, thanks to you. We're looking forward to more tuition and to seeing you both again very soon.
(21/06/2010 20:59) Christina A wonderful introduction to watercolours. Clearly explained, practical demonstrations, very helpful guidance as we put into practice what we were taught. A real confidence building experience for a complete beginner. Thank you Sarah.
(21/06/2010 11:45) Maria wow! What a great 2 days. Sarah's passion for watercolours is contagious. I went from complete beginner on day one to someone who nearly cried with joy and satisfaction when looking at my results by the end of day 2. Lots of laughter for two days with a lovely group of people is good for the soul. Now checking dates to see when I can come back for more!! Thanks so much Sarah!
(20/06/2010 14:38) Pauline Tatchell Thank you, Sarah, for a wonderful couple of days. You made us feel at ease, and taught us so much in such a short time. The setting was lovely, and you even laid on some super weather. I can't wait to come back for another course.
(15/05/2010 23:30) Tansy Patilla I heartily recommend the 3 day watercolour course. It was fun, inspiring and refreshing. Add to that the delicious lunches and good company and you have the ingredients for one of my best birthday presents ever!
(03/03/2010 23:05) Michelle Flower Well what can I say, to have someone teaching you, who you can see is passionate about painting, but who is also passionate about sharing this with other people, you couldnt get a better teacher. I was happily exhausted by the end of the day, I was also inspired and amazed at what you can achieve with just 3 colours! You have an infinate colour pallette! I have to admit I decided to do this beginners course with the hope I may learn different techniques to use in greeting card making and I certainly did. So even if you dont want to become an Artist, this course is great for colour and painting techniques you could use in other crafts. Thank you Sarah for a fun, relaxing and happy day.
(03/03/2010 14:56) Kathleen Grosell My friend and I spent 3 days with Sarah in January and I cannot begin to tell you how informative it was. I look at all colours in a new way now. Worth every penny of the price spent. The company, food and general surroundings were fantastic and I would recomend the course to anyone.
(16/02/2010 17:25) Barbara Brennan - Heckmondwike 3 days in January & I'm still so excited by Sarah's refreshing approach to an art form which has always been a love hate relationship for me. Everything about the break was first rate - company, accomodation, food (oh! the food), haven't come down to earth yet. Thanks Sarah
(16/02/2010 17:17) Chris Brennan - Heckmondwike Barabara, my wife, & I had a 3 day course in January - I'm a pastellist & water colours do not appeal at all but the food was more than enough to get me along to keep her company. I'm so glad I did, my first love is still pastels but Sarah opened a window for me - so beginner or expert I cannot recommend the workshops enough.
(09/02/2010 17:00) Roger Harvey just a line to thank you for two fun days learning to paint. Ann and I really enjoyed our time with you. well done.
(05/02/2010 09:28) Glyn. Jane and Janet We had such fun at the printing Christmas cards day! Now we can't pass a craft shop without looking for rubbers to carve or stuff to print with. We wnet into card production immediately and are hoping you might do another printing workshop sometime soon. Thankyou Sarah for such a jolly day.
(04/02/2010 14:47) Jennifer Bateman Thank you for another brilliant day, Sarah. I'm really looking forward to the next one!

(16/11/2009 04:55) Jane Yip from Hong Kong This is an extraordinary pleasant art course. Strange that, after having inspiration, I was confident to hold the brush in painting every stroke intimately. My husband's mind has now a greater extent of painting. We are still enjoying the funs until today. Sarah, you are a great teacher. Thank you very much.
(11/10/2009 09:35) Bob Eadie I had a brilliant couple of workshops last week, enjoyed the company and excellent enthusiastic tuition from Sarah. I would recommend Sarah's workshops as superb day out where one will learn alot and laugh alot. Lunch was superb too
(06/10/2009 15:42) Sandra Gailans Sarah is a great teacher in her art. (16/09/2009 21:50) Sheila James Did a 3-day course with Sarah, met a great group of people. So enjoyable, interesting, exhausting and very rewarding. Learnt such a lot, now it is all down to me! If you want to understand the technique of watercolour, with lots of encouragement, you must do one of Sarah's classes. You won't be disappointed!
(14/09/2009 10:29) Doreen Henderson Recently returned from a most enjoyable couple of days, and I'm inspired!! A happy group, lots of laughs and patient professional teaching from Sarah. I've picked up several wrinkles and hope to put them to good use. I'm already looking ahead to a possible return in 2010
(10/09/2009 10:07) dennispc For many years part of my job was assessing teachers of mature students; my professional view is that Sarah is amongst the best. She is well organised, her preparation exemplary and yet she retains her lovely happy personality and enthusiasm. Despite her own high skills she has the ability to understand us lesser mortals and breaks down the component parts of the artistic process into easily manageable steps. Now I have a set of building blocks with which I hope to be creative. As a group we had a lot of laughs as well - and when you go make sure she shows you some of her Dad's pictures.
(05/09/2009 18:31) Liz van Hasselt Hope you don't mind, but I have added your website to my blog, if you hate the idea please do say so!
(05/09/2009 18:25) liz van Hasselt Good to meet you today, love the website!
Liz (aka The washerwoman) xx
(31/08/2009 23:50) Jane Warren I was so pleased to be able to attend one of Sarah's beginners workshops while staying with friends in Devon. Sarah's enthusiasm was a joy. The activities were totally absorbing and we had great fun, both on the day and practising our new skills afterwards. I must also mention the first class lunch. Thanks to all concerned! I'm very much looking forward to my next trip to the SW when my friend and I have booked in to try our hands at printing!
(20/08/2009 18:20) Angela Reid My husband and son of 16 all had a great time at Sarah's 2 day beginners workshop a lovely way to spend time as a family and truly inspirational - we have been painting since coming home and my husband and I have booked for a 5 week local course in vintage watercolour flowers. We cannot wait to go back and have another go.
(07/08/2009 13:21) Robert Smith Sarah never fails to encourage and inspire me on her workshops. They are fun days with lots of tuition. They don't last long enough ! I can thoroughly recommend anyone who is thinking of attending one not to wait too long, you are missing a treat!
(04/08/2009 10:15) Glyn Marshall As a complete beginner with absolutely no previous painting I have been inspired! The workshop was super, practical and fun. I'm practising the techniques Sarah showed us like mad now and it's so satisfying.
(16/07/2009 11:42) Jilly Ballantyne Such a pleasure to meet you in France, your watercolour of the Matisse Villa is just stunning. I am eager to come to England and learn 'la Bell technique' at one of your watercolour workshops, send me the dates!
