Come and have some fun learning different quick and easy ways to use Inktense Watercolour Pencils. Inktense pencils are like magic: the colours simply burst into life at the touch of a wet brush.
They are SO much easier than conventional watercolour, fun to use, super compact to pop in your bag, and you don’t need to take heavy containers of water along either if you want to use them outdoors.
You can use them for sketching on the go, or for making watercolour style paintings at home.
In this workshop our main painting will be of St Michael’s Mount, and if the weather is kind we’ll stroll down to the seafront to find a quiet spot to do our sketching with colour. After all, we have the best views of the Mount from Penzance. And don’t be scared: it’s surprisingly easy (and there’s safety in numbers!) And of course, we have photos to work from indoors if it’s raining.
When you come to my workshop you’ll learn so many things:
Understand the different, exciting techniques of using Inktense pencils
How to use a water brush and why it’s so much easier than a normal brush
Get to know the colours in the set and how to easily blend new ones
How to allow your (pencil) paint to flow just like authentic watercolours:
How to create quick and easy skies
How to choose the best materials to make using Inktense pencils really easy
What will I do in the workshop?
In the morning session you’ll create a useful colour chart of your Inktense colours and learn how to blend.
You’ll also learn how to create layered effects and effortless line and wash sketches and how to paint simple skies using just a pencil and a water brush.
In the afternoon session we’ll create a step-by-step watercolour painting of St Michael’s Mount, and time permitting, we’ll create another small landscape too.
It’ll be an exciting day, and I’ll be giving frequent demonstrations and explanation throughout to support you.
You’ll leave the workshop feeling inspired to make Inktense pencils your new favourite way to make art!
