This gentle, beginner-friendly workshop is designed especially for adults who want to start sketching again (or for the very first time!). And drawing is fun! You’ll learn how to keep things simple, loosen up your lines, and create expressive, beautiful sketches in a little hard-backed sketchbook using just a biro and a few Inktense watercolour pencils — no paint, no fuss, just creativity…
Whether it’s been decades since you last drew, or you’ve always told yourself “I can’t sketch,” this course will help you feel confident and inspired to pick up a pen and give it a go.
What You’ll Learn:
Which simple tools make sketching easier and more enjoyable
How to begin your sketches with basic shapes and then adapt and refine them
How to sketch confidently (even if you think you “can’t draw”)
How to create expressive linework and simple shadows
Ways to simplify what you see — and leave out the rest!
Easy techniques for using Inktense pencils and a water barrel brush to add gentle colour and movement
How to add depth and a sense of space using minimal materials
We'll be working from Sarah’s photos in the studio — no need to be outdoors or worry about what to draw!
Most importantly, lots more confidence and inspiration!
