Come and spend a calming, inspiring day learning how to paint some simple, semi-abstract starter seascapes with me In Penzance
This is a gentle introduction to watercolour seascapes whether you’re an absolute beginner or have been painting for years. I’ll be demonstrating easy watercolour painting techniques and the sequence of creating a seascape painting:
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
The best watercolour equipment and colours to use for seascapes
How to dilute your paint so it flows beautifully across the paper
How to create soft skies and gentle washes
How to paint simple horizons and reflections in the water
How to mix realistic sandy colours, including the look of wet sand
How to add details such as birds, grasses and coastal textures
How to avoid muddy, sludgy colour mixes
How to work with watercolour rather than trying to control it too much
By the end of the day, you’ll have a beautiful seascape to take home and the confidence to create more coastal paintings of your own.
